This photo shows the use of window light. I like that the background of the photo is dark and the main highlights are on her face.

I really enjoy the perspective of this photo. Low to the ground with the center of the bike in focus and the background of the photo blurred. The shadows coming from the bike also make it interesting to look at. This photo also shows a sense of abandonment, because the owner just left it out in snow uncared for.

I really like the bright yellow colors of the leaves in this photo. I took this photo from the inside of my car with the leaves on my windshield on a rainy day. Taking the photo from below gives it a bit of a different perspective with shadows of leaves overlapping.

I chose this photo because I really like the mood that it sets. It gives off a feeling of warmth and I can almost smell the candle's fall scents. The low light, I think, gives it an almost mysterious feel.

I like that darkness that is shown on both sides of the image, with the bright white sky in the center. I also only kept the American flag in color. This photo I think, shows both beauty and chaos; which is just what Times Square represents.

This is a picture of a water balloon that had just been popped. I love the bright color of the water and the texture that it shows. I wasn't really sure what it would look like when I took the shot, but I was happy with the outcome.

I chose this photo because of the vibrant colors it displayed. I also like the shadows that the pencils made.

I really love this photo because of the colors. I like the contrast between the bright colors of the sky, and the dark colors of the pumpkin patch and trees. I also thought that the path off on the left hand side of the photo was engaging.

I chose this photo because of the textures that it showed. I was on a walk and saw lots of pieces of broken bottles that caught my eye. I enjoy the roughness of the pavement, but also the smoothness of the glass reflecting the trees that you can't see.

I chose this photo because of its simplicity and imperfection. The edges of the petals are starting to curl, rip and tear, but the shape and the rose itself still remains so beautiful.

This photo is of my cat, Ginny. I hadn't planned on taking pictures of her at that time, but where she was laying, and where the sunlight was coming in through the glass door just worked. I had taken this photo of her for an assignment where we needed to look for light and shadows. The shadow on her face kind of fades into the ground, and the shadow on her eye is so sharp which I thought was a bit intriguing.  I also enjoyed the fact that is looks like she is really looking deep into the lens.
